Beyond Blindness Glenelg Apartment Booking Guidelines

1. Overview: Beyond Blindness (BB) owns a serviced 2-bedroom apartment at 1108/Colley Terrace, Glenelg, managed by the Oaks Group as a commercial holiday let. This investment aims to generate income for BB while also providing an opportunity for full BB members to enjoy a short holiday at Glenelg at an affordable, subsidized rate. The apartment will be offered on a limited basis to full members and their accompanying family members or carers.

2. Accessibility & Accommodation: The apartment is accessible via lift and has a separate shower; however, it is not designed as wheelchair-accessible accommodation, nor specifically for those with vision impairments. The balcony is also not wheelchair accessible. Full members requiring fully wheelchair-accessible accommodation should contact BB to explore other arrangements.

3. Eligibility & Limitations:
• 3.1 Accommodation can only be booked by a full member who is independent or will be accompanied by a carer or support person, as the apartment does not provide support services.
• 3.2 The apartment is not a "supported facility," so members must arrange for their own carers or supports as needed.
• 3.3 A member must stay in the apartment during the booking period. Booking the apartment for use by others is not permitted.

4. Booking Limits:
• 4.1 Members are limited to 3 days of subsidised accommodation per year at a cost deemed affordable by BB management (as on 18.9.2024 it is $120 for 3 nights and $80 per every extra night) Extended stays of up to 7 days may be permitted, but any booking beyond the 3-day subsidised rate or for a single day will incur higher fees to cover additional cleaning and administrative costs.
• 4.2 All rates charged by BB to members are subject to change at BB Management's discretion.
• 4.3 Reservations are subject to availability, and certain peak periods (e.g., Easter, New Year’s Eve) may not be available for member bookings as the apartment is also commercially let by Oaks.
• 4.4 Bookings cannot be made more than 6 months in advance.
• 4.5 During high seasons, such as school holidays, members may be placed on a waiting list, and those who have accessed peak periods previously may not access the same peak period again, subject to availability.

5. Guidelines/Procedure:
• 5.1 Acceptance of Terms and Conditions: By making a payment, it is understood that the member accepts the Terms and Conditions of the Oaks Booking.
• 5.2 Deposits: A minimum deposit of $50 is required within seven (7) days of receiving the invoice.
• 5.3 Cancellations: If a cancellation occurs after the deposit has been paid, the deposit will be forfeited. Cancellation fees may include any reasonable loss of income or fees incurred by Beyond Blindness.
Cancellations Made Within One Week of the Booking: If you cancel your booking within one week of the scheduled arrival date, no refunds will be provided. Additionally, you will not be eligible to rebook for the same period. For example, if you are allocated 7 nights per year and book 3 nights but cancel one week prior to your stay, those 3 nights will still be deducted from your annual allowance, leaving you with only 4 nights available for the rest of the year.
• 5.5 Partial Stays: If you book for a certain number of nights but only stay for a portion of that time (e.g., you book for 3 nights but only stay for 2), no refund will be provided for the unused night(s) or rescheduled for a later date.
• 5.6 Booking Requirement: The BB member who books the apartment must stay for the duration of the reservation. The apartment cannot be booked on behalf of family members, friends, or anyone else. It is mandatory that the member is physically present during the stay.
• 5.7 Responsibility: All costs and accommodations are correct at the time of printing but are subject to change due to factors beyond Beyond Blindness' control, such as road or weather conditions. No refunds are payable on unused or partially utilised sections of the trip, and itemised costs for NDIS, My Aged Care, or other organisations will not be provided.
• 5.8 Personal Property: Beyond Blindness is not responsible for any loss or damage to personal property.

6. Booking Process:

7. Apartment Information: The apartment, located on the 11th floor of the Oaks Liberty Suites (corner of Colley Terrace and Anzac Highway, Glenelg), features:
• 2 bedrooms with king-size beds (which can be split into king singles by prior arrangement with Oaks Front of House Management).
• Kitchen, laundry facilities, bathroom, lounge, and dining areas.
• Large balcony with views of the city and hills.
• Exclusive access to a carpark on Basement Level 3.
• The Oaks Liberty Suites also offers a heated pool, gymnasium, and sauna facilities. The apartment is near the beach and a wide range of restaurants on Jetty Road.

8.The apartment will not be cleaned during your stay, but if you require extra towels or other amenities, you can contact reception.
